But dwelling on negative thoughts and aspects of your life does no good. However, it can affect your health in numerous ways. People who tend to overthink are more susceptible to being stressed, anxious, or depressed. Overthinkers are prone to mental health related issues from time to time. The main cause is due to the fact that the lack of focus on good things and focus on negative thoughts and emotions will stick around and hamper your cognitive functioning. It’s essential to keep your mental health in check.

Being too focused on negative feelings and emotions will disturb your body’s hormone levels. It can cause an imbalance and break down the brain chemistry which is essential for generating happiness. Many a times stress and overthinking can also lead to formation of stomach ulcers.

Many a times over thinking can lead to the wearing down of your entire immune system. It hampers with the ability to fight off even the common cold and influenza. It jeopardises your entire life.
