CA-19.9 is a cancer antigen which acts like a tumor marker which can be used to evaluate the treatments of pancreatic cancer. It's also used to measure the risk of recurrence or to determine the chance of recurrence. The doctor may even order for the test to determine the presence of tumour markers in men with symptoms like pain in the back and abdomen, nausea, loss of appetite, unexplained weight loss, jaundice, etc.
